Departure
Oh dear. Your holiday is nearly over. Just that journey to the airport, the long wait in the departure lounge. The scramble to your loading gate, the 4 hour plus flight, the LANDING!, the luggage reclaim, getting your car back! Driving home, sorting out all the JUNK mail from real mail, replying to your e-mails, nice cup of tea, pat the dog, your own bed! Not so bad after all!
Now back to business. You will have to vacate your room by midday on the day of departure. Not a problem unless, like us, you have a night flight. We didn't leave the Hotel until 1 AM the next morning so it was a long day without a room to go and rest in. Rooms could be kept on for a fee but everyone who asked for an extension on their room were unable to do so due to the busy time of year. There is however, a shower room below reception. Ask for the key at reception. This means you can still enjoy the last day to it's full, with the knowledge of somewhere to take a shower and get changed.
The coach arrived and our friends waved us goodbye!

Las Palmas airport is very modern and spacious. On arrival, your rep will go and find out which desk or desks you will need to go to. This year they had several desks open but due to the sheer number of travellers, the queues were quite long. Pass through passport control and into the lounge. It's big! One long building with several shops, bars and restaurants. You've been away for a while and you might just have missed your JUNK food (we did) well there is a treat in store for you. Enough said!
